Before Final Fantasy 16 Hits The Shelves A Demo Will Be Available To We The Appetite

The producer of Final Fantasy 16 confirms that the upcoming action JRPG will receive a playable demo before its release next year.

Square Enix's ever-popular Final Fantasy franchise remains popular to this day, with this latest installment capturing the attention of many gamers. It's not only a brand-new mainline game for the PS5, but it also incorporates many classic Final Fantasy elements in a new and interesting way.

Final Fantasy 16 development has reached 95% completion, according to the game's producer, Naoki Yoshida. This also implies that the game's official release date will be announced soon, with Yoshida stating that fans can expect more information about the game near the end of the year. In an interview with Dengeki Online, he even mentioned that a demo was in the works.

According to a translation of Yoshida's comment, if Final Fantasy 16 information is revealed too soon, it will not have the same impact or excitement that it would normally have with the proper amount of buildup. With that said, he claims that more information about the game will be released three months before its release.

He mentions the possibility of a demo, which will be released once he and the team have achieved the necessary buildup and momentum. Other information revealed in this interview includes Yoshida recounting a story about the development of the game's battle system. The Garuda fight with Clive, which went through several iterations, was cited as an example of this long and winding development.

They all mention how difficult it was to get to that point, with other members noting that the ability customization from Final Fantasy 5 would also be used in Final Fantasy 16's battle system. While a demo is possible, it will most likely be released as Final Fantasy 16's summer 2023 release date approaches. This release date was only recently revealed in the game's "Ambition" trailer, which was released in late October. With only a few months left in the year, The Game Awards may appear to be the ideal event to announce the game's official release date. For the time being, this is just speculation, and it could be revealed before or after the showcase.
