Chris Pratt In Comic-Accurate Star-Lord Costume In GOTG 3 Set Photos

New set photographs from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 feature Chris Pratt in his comic-accurate Star-Lord outfit alongside Nebula.

There haven't been many glances at what Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will feature during the development process. James Gunn has kept fans updated on his expanding Rick and Morty collection, while actresses like Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan, who reprise their roles as Gamora and Nebula, have given behind-the-scenes views at the process. Dave Bautista's Drax, Sean Gunn's Kraglin, Pom Klementieff's Mantis, and the CGI combo of Rocket and Groot round out the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Star-Lord and his company will encounter an unknown foe, although reports say it might be High Evolutionary.

Chris Pratt is seen donning Star-comic-accurate Lord's outfit in the latest set photographs from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 published by Just Jared. Karen Gillan's Nebula also wears the blue and red costume, indicating that she is still a member of the crew. It's unclear when this will happen in the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 plot, but it looks that the Guardians will be on Earth, engaging with various aliens who appear to be human.

The outfit worn by Star-Lord in these Guardians of the Galaxy 3 pictures is based on Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning's time with the team. Marvel Studios was significantly influenced by this version of the squad while producing the MCU's version. In that light, it's pretty enjoyable to see Abnett and Lanning's run honored in this manner, with Lanning's design receiving special attention. Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax appear in their version of the team, although Adam Warlock and Phylla-Vel/Quasar were also founding members.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Star-comic-accurate Lord's suit begins a new Phase 4 pattern. In the past, the MCU has usually stayed true to comic-book outfits, although there have been a few major alterations, particularly when the suits were judged too absurd. During Phase 4, however, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Thor, Loki, and others have donned their iconic comic outfits. Star-appearance Lord's isn't as drastic, but it might be a wonderful opportunity for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to illustrate his and the team's continuing progress.
