CW's Upcoming Walker Prequel Show Drops A New Fast-Paced Trailer That Will Rock All Of The West

The prequel series Walker: Independence, starring Katherine McNamara, has a new teaser highlighting its Western setting and establishing a revenge narrative.

The program is a precursor to the action-crime drama Walker, whose third season will premiere this autumn. Walker, Texas Ranger was a 1990s western drama television series that featured Chuck Norris and ran for eight seasons from 1993 to 2001. Walker debuted as a remake of that series. Jared Padalecki, a former Supernatural actor who now acts as executive producer of both his own show and Independence, is the primary series star.

Katherine McNamara, a star of Arrow and Shadowhunters, portrays Abigail "Abby" Walker, a forebear of Jared Padalecki's Walker character. She finds that the new replacement sheriff is her husband's killer when she arrives in Independence, a tiny town where her husband served as the new sheriff before he was slain on their voyage. The latest teaser depicts McNamara intending to exact revenge on those who killed her spouse while carrying antique weapons. In the teaser, Abby says, "You asked me if I was staying here for vengeance." "Perhaps it is justice,"

The town of Independence is home to a diverse group of people who are all struggling with different issues. Independence will also include Greg Hovanessian as Sheriff Tom Davidson, Lawrence Kao as Kai, Justin Johnson Cortez as Calian, Philemon Chambers as Deputy Sheriff Augustus, Katie Findlay as Kate, and Gabriela Quezada as Lucia Reyes in addition to McNamara.

It's interesting to note that Barr played a character with the same name in the first season of the main Walker show. He is hence the forebear of the Walker character from Independence. However, it is not yet known if any other Walker actors will make an appearance on the program.

The Winchesters, a precursor to the Supernatural television series, will debut this autumn in addition to the prequel series Independence on The CW. Jensen Ackles, who played Dean Winchester on the hit television series Supernatural with Jared Padalecki, will serve as the narrator. Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger will play the Winchester boys' parents' younger selves in that program, which will focus on the older brother's quest to understand his parents' pasts. Independence and The Winchesters are two of just three new shows on The CW this autumn, along with the DC Comics series Gotham Knights, during a turbulent period for the network after canceling a large portion of its schedule this year.
