Fans Of Stranger Things Have Started A Petition To Bring It's Content Back On Dead By Daylight

After the release of Season 4 Vol 1, a fan petition requesting for #StrangerThings material to return to #DeadbyDaylight is swiftly gaining support

Since its debut in 2016, Dead by Daylight has released additional material in the form of themed Chapters including licensed Killers, Survivors, and locales from popular horror franchises. In September 2019, Dead By Daylight released its 13th Chapter, which featured the monstrous Demogorgon as its Killer, Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington - the latter of whom had a legendary cosmetic that transformed him into Nancy's other love interest Jonathan Byers - and a setting based on the Hawkins National Laboratory. Fans were taken aback when Behaviour Interactive announced that all Stranger Things content would be removed from its store and that the Hawkins National Laboratory map would no longer be playable as of November last year, especially since five new cosmetic sets and a minor rework of the Dead By Daylight Demogorgon gameplay had been released earlier that year.

With the release of Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 on Netflix last week, fan anticipation for a return to Dead by Daylight has grown. In less than 24 hours, Twitter user Schmuckles started a Change.org petition calling for the popular IP's reinstatement, and it had gathered over 14,000 signatories, which had grown to over 15,000 by the time of writing. Other fans on Twitter have expressed their want to see the original content return, but also that it be updated to incorporate new characters and locales featured in subsequent seasons, such as Season 4's main adversary Vecna.

This isn't the first petition in response to the cancellation of Stranger Things from Dead by Daylight, which many assumed was due to a license agreement with Netflix ending. Before the content was removed, a similar Change.org petition to maintain the content in the game was launched, even though it was less successful than Schmuckles', owing to the lack of Stranger Things updates and news between Season 3 and Season 4.

If indeed the omission is related to something like a licensing deal, some fans believe Netflix may wait until the second half of Stranger Things Season 4 breaths of air in July, or perhaps the fifth and final season, before renewing it so that additional characters and places can be added to Dead by Daylight. Until there is formal confirmation, petitions like Schmuckles' appear to be a smart method for fans to demonstrate to the developer – and Netflix – that there is a lot of interest in seeing Hawkins' universe return to Dead by Daylight.
