From The Author Of All The Boy I Loved Comes Teaser Trailer For Summer I Turned Pretty

The official trailer for Prime Video's series The Summer I Turned Pretty, adapted from a novel by Jenny Han of To All the Boys, has been released.

Following in the footsteps of Netflix, Prime Video has created a whole new series based on Han's earlier novel, The Summer I Turned Pretty, which was released in 2009. The novel, which was later expanded into a trilogy, follows Isabel "Belly" Conklin as she spends the summer with her family at Cousin's Beach and becomes involved in a love triangle with brothers Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher. Han co-created the series with Gabrielle Stanton, a writer and producer best known for Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and the Arrowverse series The Flash, which will premiere on the streaming service on June 17, 2022.

The first official teaser for The Summer I Turned Pretty was released today on Prime Video. The video is only 45 seconds long, but it introduces viewers to the major characters in the summer of a lifetime, set to Taylor Swift's "This Love." Although the trailer is short, it is jam-packed with footage that promises a wild good time and lots of swoon-worthy love drama. Take a look at the teaser below:

The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the first of the trilogy's novels. Lola Tung, who is making her acting debut, stars with Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah) and Christopher Briney (Conrad) from Walker. Tom Everett Scott of La La Land, Rachel Blanchard of Fargo, and Kelsey Rose Healey of Along for the Ride will round out the cast.

The Summer I Turned Pretty will see if Prime Video can match To All the Boys I've Loved Before's lightning in a bottle. Despite the popularity of the original material, the series' approach will most likely determine its success on the platform. If fans love spending so much time in Han's universe, they can be comfortable that Prime will soon approve more seasons adapting the sequels. It's Not Summer Without You, and Summer Will Always Exist.
