Future Of Scarlet Witch In The MCU Hinted At By Marvel Producer

Producer for Marvel Studios Richie Palmer discusses what the future holds for Scarlet Witch following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Following the conclusion of the Infinity Saga in Avengers: Endgame, the MCU is now reconstructing the cosmos. The next major plotline for the series is already being laid out by Kevin Feige and his staff, and based on how the brand is currently developing, there is a good likelihood that it will involve the multiverse. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen debuted in the MCU. Despite this, she largely served as a supporting role because the original Avengers were the main attraction. Given Wanda Maximoff's talents in Marvel Comics, some people were disappointed by this.

But after the events of the Infinity Saga, it is obvious that she will play a significant part in the future of the franchise as the Scarlet Witch. Up to the moment she appeared to pass away at the conclusion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel producer Richie Palmer is happy to make the suggestion that the MCU will continue to feature more of Scarlet Witch for people who are still unsure if Wanda survived the events of the Sam Raimi-directed movie.

Palmer discusses the potential future of the MCU in his audio commentary for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. His addition that Wanda would be Phase 4's "jewel in the crown" is more intriguing than his affirmation of Feige's earlier statement that Doctor Strange will serve as the phase's anchor. Below is his whole quote:

"If Doctor Strange is the anchor of the MCU of Phase 4, then Wanda Maximoff is the jewel in the crown."

It's fantastic to hear Palmer essentially confirm Wanda is still alive, even though there weren't many reasons to suspect that she would survive Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It's likely that Wanda will still get her redemption storyline after taking a bad turn in her most recent MCU appearance. Scarlet Witch would, in any event, be such a valuable tool for Earth's Mightiest Heroes by the time they need to reassemble, given how strong she is. It seems fitting that Doctor Strange serves as the MCU's Phase 4 anchor. He'll probably be at the core of the plot when the universe grows and the mysterious portion of the series is more explored. However, it appears that Scarlet Witch will continue to be the focus of most of Marvel Studios' next stories. Fans of the character should be pleased with that, especially after years of ignoring her despite her obvious superhuman skills.
