Homelander's Madness & Soldier Boy's Powers Are Highlighted In The Boys Season 3 Trailer

The third season of The Boys has been released, and it teases new characters, new conflicts, and lots of deadly action.

The titular vigilante squad is played by Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, and Tomer Capon. Anthony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, and Dominique McElligott appear as members of The Seven, the most powerful superhero group on the planet run by Vought International, a corporation that not only helps create superheroes, but also covers up their crimes while promoting them as celebrities. Jensen Ackles will play Soldier Boy, Laurie Holden will play Crimson Countess, Langston Kerman will play Eagle the Archer, Sean Patrick Flanery will play Gunpowder, Miles Gaston Villanueva will play Supersonic, and Nick Wechsler will play Blue Hawk in season 3 of The Boys.

Homelander is in PR mode following his catastrophe last season, when he became embroiled with Stormfront, who turned out to be a Nazi, while Billy Butcher tries to level the playing field in his battle against the supes by becoming one of them, according to the latest teaser for The Boys season 3. There are also a few new characters in the video, including Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy, who appears in both flashback and modern-day in the upcoming season, replete with some very extreme abilities. Below is the trailer for season 3 of The Boys:

Soldier Boy also introduces Payback, the first incarnation of The Seven, who first appeared in the series as a squad of supes during WWII. Payback is a spoof of Marvel's The Avengers, with each of The Boys' characters portraying one of the team's founding members. The Boys looks to be exploring Payback's, Soldier Boy's, and the rest of the team's backstories before bringing Soldier Boy back to contemporary times, akin to Captain America's origin narrative, but with a more adult and gory slant.

The latest teaser for The Boys season 3 offers a lot of potential for the critically acclaimed superhero program, extending the narrative threads established in season 1. It's one of Prime Video's most enjoyable series, thanks to its no-holds-barred approach and bold storytelling whether it comes to deconstructing, parodying, or depicting the superhero genre. Except for Peacemaker on HBO Max, no other superhero series is doing what The Boys is doing, making it a distinct standout among the many comic-book based shows on the air. Season 3 of The Boys will premiere on Prime Video on June 3rd.
