Iman Vellani Star Of Ms. Marvel Shares Story Of Her Meeting Tom Hiddleston For The First Time
Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, has revealed how she met Loki actor Tom Hiddleston while working on the currently running Disney+ series
Vellani makes her MCU debut in Ms. Marvel as Kamala Khan, a teenage high school student who has grown up in a world where superheroes are a genuine and constant part of life. As a result, Kamala has embraced Marvel's characters, creating videos chronicling the Avengers' adventures and cosplays for an Avenger fan gathering inspired by her favorite hero, Captain Marvel. Vellani, like Kamala, is a huge Marvel enthusiast who has progressed from being a fan to being an important character in the world. Vellani recently recounted her own account of how she met one of the MCU's most well-known characters.
Vellani revealed a story about her first meeting with a fellow Marvel star during the development of Ms. Marvel in Atlanta in an interview with JOE. During filming, she inquired as to why she hadn't seen Tom Hiddleston or Tom Holland, despite the fact that Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home were both filming nearby. Following her inquiry, Vellani was informed that Hiddleston would want to see her, and despite her reservations about meeting the Loki actor, Vellani stated that Hiddleston was kind to her while they worked on their separate programs. Check out the rest of Vellani's quote below.
"My first week in Atlanta, we shot Ms. Marvel right next door to Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home. And I've been there two weeks and I go to Marvel's head of security, and I'm like 'Yo Barry, I've been here two weeks, I haven't met any of the Toms yet! "He comes back 15 minutes later and says 'Tom Hiddleston wants to meet you. I came to work in my pajamas that day! It was terrifying but he was actually the sweetest guy ever and he ended up living in our apartment! We worked out with Tom Hiddleston! We ran into him at the gym and suddenly we were all doing reps together."
Vellani's personal experience as a fan has been lovely to see as the actor promotes her own Disney+ MCU series, from engaging debates about the MCU's multiverse numbering to expressing her own dream cameo dreams. Vellani claimed in a June 2022 interview that she had lobbied for Lockjaw, the Inhumans' huge teleporting dog, to appear in the Ms. Marvel series, claiming that she admired his and Kamala's connection. While Vellani has also worked on the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels starring Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris, her experience of meeting Tom Hiddleston is sure to connect with many longstanding MCU fans. Following his debut in Thor, Hiddleston has established himself as one of the MCU's longest-serving actors, and his depiction of Loki has garnered a sizable fan base. In reality, many fans are likely to understand Vellani's trepidation while meeting him. Vellani, like Kamala in Ms. Marvel, has grown from a fan to an active member of the MCU, making her the ideal actor to portray Kamala's path.
