In A BTS Video Rosario Dawson Reacts To Seeing Mark Hamill On The Boba Fett Set
Ahsoka actor Rosario Dawson can't handle being on set with Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker in a behind-the-scenes The Book of Boba Fett set video.
Despite the fact that the series was allegedly intended to give the eponymous bounty hunter his due, the character was largely shelved in the second half, resulting in what fans joked was The Mandalorian season 2.5. Mando visits the planet where Luke is teaching Grogu in Boba Fett episode 6, wanting to offer him a gift of beskar chain mail that would identify him as a Mandalorian foundling. Instead, he meets Dawson's live-action Ahsoka Tano, who gives the present to Luke in his place.
Now, Dawson shares a video of herself dressed as Ahsoka responding to the fact that Hamill is on site as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. Despite the fact that the Luke in the series was primarily created using CGI, Hamill was on set to play with a younger doppelganger. While Dawson scolds the Twitter user for effectively calling her out for fangirling, she can't help but remember the filming day fondly.
While witnessing a post-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker was obviously exciting for Star Wars fans, the reception to this episode was mixed. Many viewers were disturbed by the digitally de-aged representation of Hamill, which also depended on AI to imitate his voice from that time period, amid a larger critique of Boba Fett's narrative arc being mostly neglected. Nonetheless, Dawson's response to seeing the actor reprise his role on the Boba Fett set is understandable.
While it's unknown how much longer Disney wants to employ the virtual Luke shown in Boba Fett, Dawson will feature in Ahsoka, a limited series based on the famous Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. Fans have been anxious to see Ahsoka in live-action and have reacted well to Dawson's first depiction in The Mandalorian season 2. Though no official release date for Ahsoka has been set, it is scheduled to arrive in 2023.
