In The Suicide Squad BTS Image James Gunn Displays His Weasel Acting

James Gunn has shared a humorous behind-the-scenes shot from The Suicide Squad in which he is displaying his Weasel acting abilities

Gunn's highly anticipated The Suicide Squad, a quasi-reboot of David Ayer's 2016 Suicide Squad, was released last year in the midst of his Marvel efforts. The picture received positive reviews from reviewers and fans alike, prompting requests for Gunn to return for a sequel, albeit one has not yet been announced. Several members of Ayer's original ensemble returned in Gunn's film, including Harley Quinn's Margot Robbie, Amanda Waller's Viola Davis, and Rick Flag's Joel Kinnaman. The new film also included a number of distinct and colorful characters, like John Cena's Peacemaker, David Dastmalchian's Polka-Dot Man, and Sean Gunn's Weasel.

Gunn has now revealed a humorous behind-the-scenes shot from The Suicide Squad's production on Twitter, including both himself and his brother. Gunn is seen standing on the back of a heavily fortified truck, while Sean can be seen peering up at him from below in his full mo-cap gear for Weasel, with an on-set guard standing by. Gunn looks to be shrieking into the air, and the caption confirms that the director was showing how Weasel should yell, which his brother then replicated for his performance. Sean Gunn has appeared in several of his brother's productions over the years, both with and without motion capture. The actor has starred in both Guardians of the Galaxy films as the Ravager Kraglin and did the physical movement for Rocket, with Bradley Cooper providing Rocket's voice. Sean's character Weasel was first thought to be one of the many humorous and strange victims of The Suicide Squad's opening credits; however, the film's concluding minutes hinted at a possible future for the character by revealing Weasel had, in fact, survived.

As regular collaborators, the two Gunns' BTS shot provides an intriguing and amusing peek into the pair's creative process, with a number of Gunn's followers even pointing out the photo's potential as a future meme format. Following the success of the film's first spin-off series Peacemaker, which explored more of Cena's anti-hero, Gunn has teased future spin-off ideas for The Suicide Squad. With multiple hidden projects in the works, many will be hopeful that Weasel will make another appearance soon.
