This is not the first instance of live-action marketing being utilized to promote an open-world game by FromSoftware. Ming-Na Wen appeared in an Elden Ring trailer shortly after the game's release to support its launch. The fact that over three months have gone since Elden Ring's debut and it is still sufficiently well-liked that the publishers believe it makes financial sense to continue to market it speaks to the quality of the product. The Elden Ring hype train may still be going strong in 2022 if DLC is in the works, especially if it matches the caliber of some of the other highly appreciated Soulsborne expansions that have been released over the previous decade, such as DLC for Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. This most recent teaser could be a clue that there will soon be another marketing initiative to support the release of fresh Elden Ring content.
