Kevin Feige Expressed His Admiration For Ryan Gosling Entering The MCU After His Ghost Rider Request
After being asked about Ryan Gosling possibly entering the MCU as Ghost Rider, Kevin Feige had nothing but praise for the actor and expressed his interest in bringing him into the Marvel world
Ghost Rider is the name of multiple antiheroes and superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Consumed by hellfire, causing his head to become a flaming skull, the Ghostrider would ride a fiery motorcycle and wields blasts of hellfire from his body, usually from his skeletal hands. One of Marvel's strongest and most unique supernatural characters, accompanying his life in the comics, the Ghostrider has had an interesting journey in live action as well.
Nicolas Cage already portrayed Ghost Rider on the big screen twice, in 2007 and 2012. Gabriel Luna's depiction of Robbie Reyes in the television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the character's next on-screen appearance. In the season four episode "The Good Samaritan," Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider was shown briefly when Blaze shared his curse with Reyes.

Ever since then Ghost Rider has been long dormant in the Marvel world, there was some talk for a while of a Ghost Rider TV Series on Hulu before Marvel's venture onto Disney+, but after that everything has been silent. But the clamoring for Ghost Rider on his motorcycles riding onto the screen of the MCU has only been growing the past couple of years, especially as more and more big-time actors throw their names into the hat to be the ones to bring the flaming skull menace to life once again.
Nicholas Cage, the man who originally brought him into live-action fandom and who has recently gotten his name back into mainstream media after a couple of years of shying away from the limelight has openly said he would return if he got approached but would first really need to see what [Marvel Studios] had in mind before fully committing. Then you have the motorcycle riding, bad-ass zombie killing machine Norman Reedus. He confirmed said there had been discussions about him portraying Ghost Rider in the MCU, but nothing solid has come to fruition. Then there is the most recent challenger to the throne, Mr. Ken Doll himself, Ryan Gosling.
MTV News' Josh Horowitz informed Feige at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con that Gosling is interested in playing the Spirit of Vengeance. "Hey, Ryan, if you want to be Ghost Rider..." Feige responded by calling Gosling "unbelievable" and "wonderful," and stating he'd love to see him in the MCU. The actor recently dismissed speculations that he'd be entering the MCU as Nova, saying he'd rather play Ghost Rider. He has not stated whether he would like to portray Johnny Blaze or Dan Ketch's rendition of the role. Either way, Ghost Rider's future in the MCU still remains a mystery, no matter what version we get to see of him on screen or who will portray him. But with the MCU expanding and the supernatural side of it only growing, it will probably be a matter of time before we see the motorcyclist of vengeance ride once again.
