Marvel's Next Disney+ Series About Ironheart has Wrapped Filming

An Ironheart crew member subtly announces that filming on the upcoming Marvel Studios project, which will premiere on Disney+ in 2023, has wrapped.

Jalen Marlowe, a still photographer on the upcoming Disney+ original series, recently shared on Instagram that filming on the Marvel Cinematic Universe project had wrapped. "That's an mf wrap," he wrote in the story, which was picked up on by Murphy's Multiverse.

Marlowe's post comes just a few days after Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development Nate Moore announced that filming on the MCU series was "nearly complete. "Dominique Thorne will first appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as MIT student and genius Riri Williams/Ironheart, with Ironheart serving as a continuation of the events depicted in the upcoming MCU film.

While plot details for Ironheart are scarce, recent reports indicate that a well-known Marvel Comics villain will finally make his long-awaited MCU debut in the upcoming series. Sacha Baron Cohen is rumored to be playing Mephisto, a demon character known as Marvel's version of the Devil, in Ironheart.

Previously, the character was rumored to appear in WandaVision (2021), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2021). (2022). Marvel Studios had not yet confirmed Cohen's casting as the fan-favorite supervillain at the time of writing. Parker Robbins/The Hood, a Marvel Comics antagonist, is set to appear in Ironheart.

Anthony Ramos, best known for playing both John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton, will play The Hood in the upcoming series, with the character reimagined for the MCU as an ally of Ironheart with a hood that allows him to access dark arts and magic. Lyric Ross, Harper Anthony, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, Rashida "Sheedz" Olayiwola, Sonia Denis, Paul Calderón, and Cree Summer round out the cast of Ironheart. In addition, Jim Rash will reprise his role as the Dean of MIT from the Captain America: Civil War series.
