Marvel Studios Snatch Up Director To Helm Their Next Up Their Next Captain America Movie
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios have signed an agreement with Julius Onah to have him be the Director for one of their upcoming movies, Captain America 4
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a cinematic-connected franchise that was, built on a narrative franchise, with every movie leading to the next until we reached the final culmination of the epic journey. Throughout the journey, we got introduced to a multitude of characters who were extremely integral in the massive success of the MCU. From characters like the Guardians Of The Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, etc... But as much as those characters helped propel the MCU to a new stratosphere, the foundation which it was built upon, the three pillars that helped keep everything afloat, were Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America.
Chris Evan's portrayal of Captain America is held in very high esteem by the legions of MCU fans around the world, (including this measly writer right here.) He was the leader of the Avengers, the beating heart of the MCU, and he was bloody worthy of Mjolnir! He fought to the very end, and when it came time to it, Steve for the first time ever chose himself and decided to live his life for himself. By making that choice, Steve left some very big shoes that needed to be filled in the MCU, and he had the perfect man in mind to take over, even if he disagreed at first, The Falcon Sam Wilson.
Chris Evan's New Villainous Role In Netflix's Gray Man Has Been In The Works Since MCU Winter Soldier
In one of Marvel's first ventures onto the small screen, they delivered to us a gift, a gift titled The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It was here where we saw the two most important people in Steve Roger's MCU adventures team up to stop a radicalized group called The Flag Smashers. For Sam, it was an adventure of self-discovery and acceptance as in the beginning, we saw him pass on the shield to finally in the end embrace the moniker which Steve bestowed upon him of Sam Wilson, Captain America.
Marvel delivered one of their best TV Shows to date, accompanied by a season finale to remember, and a suit reveals to die for. But the Captain America snowball effect was just going too fast downhill to stop, and just a few hours after the Disney+ series conclusion, Mackie's return as Captain America was revealed. Although nothing is known about the fourth Captain America film's narrative, Mackie said in April that production will commence "in a few weeks," though he did not give a particular start date.
Sam Wilson will be portrayed as the MCU's ultimate underdog in Captain America 4 according to Marvel Studios Vice President of Production and Development Nate Moore in an interview from November 2021. Moore remarked that "He's going to be the underdog in every setting." "He isn't an elite soldier. He is not a century old. The Avengers are not with him. What happens when a person openly declares, sort of without any backing, "I'm the next Captain America?" What follows is intriguing to me because he is a man. He may have wings and a shield, but he is still a man." The future project, according to Moore, would investigate "what makes somebody Captain America," especially when the lead actor isn't a super-soldier like Steve Rogers. Consequently, Moore remarked, "We're going to put him through the wringer and make him earn it, and see what happens when he is outweighed, outclassed, and out-everything."
