Ms. Marvel Writer Reacts To Black Widow Tribute In MCU Show

Ms. Marvel writer Bisha K. Ali reacts to a still displaying an in-universe tribute to Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, in the book.

Iman Vellani will make her maiden appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as young superhero devotee Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. Throughout the series, Kamala will discover powers of her own that are reminiscent of her idol, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and she will finally assume the mantle of Ms. Marvel.

Ms. Marvel will mostly center on Kamala's tale, but it will also provide a fresh perspective into the MCU after Blip. Ms. Marvel's advertising campaign is starting to pick up with the release less than a week away. Kamala is seen staring at a sign praising Black Widow and Iron Man for their sacrifice in Endgame in a recent shot from the series. On Twitter, Bisha K. Ali commented to the image by emphasizing the significance of Natasha's sacrifice. Ali's reaction is shown below:

Although Endgame garnered mostly excellent reviews, one of the film's biggest flaws is Tony Stark's burial at the conclusion of the film, which follows his sacrifice to defeat Thanos. While Tony's burial is a moving scene, many fans are left asking why Natasha did not given a similar send-off, especially because the two characters made similar sacrifices and were both part of The Avengers' founding crew.

Despite the fact that Natasha did not have a funeral scene like Tony in Endgame, her sacrifice has been felt in a number of subsequent MCU tales. The Black Widow post-credits sequence showed how Natasha Belova's death affected her sister, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). Hawkeye then set Yelena against Natasha's closest friend, Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), whom Yelena holds responsible for Natasha's murder. Finally, the events of Endgame continue to reverberate across future MCU projects, and it will be fascinating to discover Kamala's opinions on such powerful heroes being sacrificed during Ms. Marvel.
