Newest Actor To Take On Role Of Spock In Star Trek Reveals He Was Almost Marvel's Captain America

Ethan Peck, who currently plays Spock in the Star Trek movie series, admits that he almost got the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to The Direct, Peck was asked to talk about some of his most memorable auditions at a panel at DragonCon 2022 in Atlanta. Peck presently plays Mr. Spock in the Star Trek franchise. I think I've had some nice ones and a lot of awful ones, Peck remarked.

"But among the notable ones, it jumps out that I was among a select number of performers who were considered for the role of Captain America many years ago. Additionally, I came quite close to landing The Deep's part in The Boys."

Chris Evans, who initially played Steve Rogers in the 2011 MCU film Captain America: The First Avenger, finally won the role of the character. The Deep in the satirical superhero series The Boys on Prime Video, which is based on the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book series of the same name, was finally played by Chace Crawford.

Peck can now be added to the list of well-known actors who had expressed interest in playing Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining names like John Krasinski, Sebastian Stan, Chris Pratt, Scott Eastwood, Wilson Bethel, Ryan Phillippe, Kellan Lutz, Alexander Skarsgard, Jensen Ackles, and Wyatt Russell.

Regarding Peck, he eventually joined the Star Trek world and took on the recognizable character of Spock, which was first portrayed by Leonard Nimoy and then by Zachary Quinto. In the 2019 second season of Star Trek: Discovery, Peck played Spock for the first time. Recent episodes of the spinoff series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which serves as a precursor to Star Trek: The Original Series, had him reprising the role. Season 1 of Strange New Worlds premiered earlier this year, and Season 2 is scheduled to appear in 2023.
