Silent Hill 2 Remake PC System Requirements Have Been Revealed

Bloober Team has revealed the system requirements for Silent Hill 2's planned remake, which will be accessible on PC and PS5.

Silent Hill, one of the most iconic horror series in gaming history, has been inactive for far too long, with fans waiting for a rebirth, a new entry, or an official remake. Finally, Konami has stated that it will undertake all three.

Konami recently revealed a slew of upcoming Silent Hill projects, including the aforementioned remake of the second film, which many believe to be the best in the series. Bloober Team, the team behind the horror blockbusters The Medium and Layers of Fear, will also be in charge. While the game will be exclusive to the PS5, it will also be accessible on PC.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Could Include Several Episodes

For anyone interested in playing the Silent Hill 2 remake on PC, the game's Steam website lists the system requirements, however, there is some debate regarding one issue. The minimal requirements — 12 GB of RAM, an Intel i5, and an Nvidia GTX 1080 or AMD equivalent — hint that the game shouldn't take too much power to function.

However, in terms of required specifications, gamers should have at the very least an RTX 2080 or AMD 6800 XT on their PC. However, the spec sheet clearly states that Windows 11 is recommended. Given that the majority of people are still on Windows 10, this might be a problem for those who want to get the most out of the game.

In terms of the other recent news, many horror aficionados are likely to feel justified after years of hope. Silent Hill rumors have been flying about for a while, especially in the last few weeks, so it's nice to see Konami doing something intriguing with the property. In any case, the franchise is returning, with two new entries, a remake of Bloober, a real-time SH interactive event, and a future film. In sum, people who have been waiting all this time have a lot to look forward to.
