Soldier Boy And 6 More Supes Are Introduced In The Boys Season 3 Poster

Soldier Boy and six other supers, including Black Noir and Laurie Holden's Crimson Countess, are featured in a new poster for The Boys season 3.

Season 3 of The Boys will introduce new characters from the comic book, notably Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles of Supernatural, who has been hinted as having a major part in the next season. Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) will play Crimson Countess, while Langston Kerman will play Eagle the Archer, Sean Patrick Flanery will play Gunpowder, Miles Gaston Villanueva will play Supersonic, and Nick Wechsler will play Blue Hawk. Even after the events of the season 2 finale, there was anticipation that Aya Cash's Stormfront might return, however the actress clarified that the character will not return in The Boys season 3.

In a new teaser picture for The Boys season 3, Soldier Boy takes center stage in what looks to be a mock-up movie poster for Payback, a superhero organization that precedes The Seven. It's unclear if the poster refers to a film or anything else, but the credits disclose the names of the individuals shown on it, some of whom are already well-known. Soldier Boy, Black Noir, Holden's Crimson Countess, TNT (Tommy & Tessa), Mindstorm, Airburst, and Gunpower are among the titles. "This may or may not make more sense when we unveil the trailer Monday," reads the statement linked to the revelation, which is likely to bring additional explanation (and excitement) since more information is on the way. Take a look at the following poster:

Soldier Boy, Stormfront, Tek Knight, Swatto, Mind-Droid, Crimson Countess, and Eagle the Archer are the initial members of Payback in the comics, which bears many parallels to Marvel's The Avengers. The Boys series has made liberties with several of the characters and origins from the comics to fit the program, and will undoubtedly do so again when Payback is introduced in season 3 of The Boys. The Boys has built its own narrative, which serves as a good companion piece to the comic, but fans can anticipate to see many comic-centric themes in the upcoming 8-episode season, including the highly-controversial "Herogasm" arc.

The Boys has proven to be a hit, not only for parodying superhero shows (and superheroes in general), but also for significantly contributing to the genre. While the Disney+ and CW episodes are more family-friendly, The Boys is a more mature and adult-themed superhero show, which people clearly want, as seen by its success and that of shows like HBO Max's Peacemaker and Prime Video's animated superhero show, Invincible. Season 3 of The Boys appears to be increasing the ante in every way, with more heroes, villains, violence, and craziness, which is likely to add another feather to the series' fame. Season 3 of The Boys will premiere on Prime Video on June 3.
