Steven's Personalities Will Merge By the Finale, According to Moon Knight Star
Ethan Hawke, who plays the villain Arthur Harrow in Moon Knight, teases that at the end of the program, all of Steven's identities will have merged.
Marvel Studios' newest character suffers from dissociative identity disorder (DID) and has two alters thus far. Steven Grant, a mild-mannered London gift store salesperson, and mercenary Marc Spector. Both are critical in thwarting Harrow's plan to revive the Egyptian deity Ammit, so they must find a way to cooperate. However, with the unexpected climax of Moon Knight episode 4, many fans are eager about what else the series has in store for them, particularly the titular character. At the end of Episode 4, when Harrow shoots him, Marc finds himself inside a psychiatric institution as one of its inmates. Marc discovers Steven, who resides independently in his own physical body, after confronting Harrow, who is revealed to be his doctor.
Episode 4 finishes on a cliffhanger with the arrival of Taweret, the Egyptian goddess of protection, leaving viewers waiting a week to find out what happens next. In a new interview with The Wrap, Hawke has been generous in revealing what fans may anticipate in the show's last two episodes, implying that all of Steve's alters would eventually combine in the conclusion. Read the rest of his reply below:
“And what the rest of the journey — his journey is to integrate all his selves into one, and as he integrates it, reality itself gets clearer. So things will be made clear, but just not yet.”
Following the release of Moon Knight episode 4, co-director Aaron Moorhead promised that the next two episodes will be full of surprises. That implies that whatever happened in the program's most recent cliffhanger conclusion will be addressed in some way, thereby explaining if everything else in the show happened or if it all happened in Marc's imagination. This concept has been discussed in the comics previously, but Marvel Studios can come up with a clear solution for the MCU's version of the character.
Moon Knight has only created two alters thus far: Steven and Marc. However, there have been rumors that there is a third personality, which might be Jake Lockley, a character from the comic books. Although the show has yet to overtly depict him, with only two episodes remaining, it's reasonable to assume that, if he does emerge, it will be sooner rather than later. Moon Knight's journey will, however, continue in the MCU beyond the Disney+ series. If his alters combine in the conclusion, it'll be interesting to see how the character is treated in the future as he's absorbed into the larger franchise.
