Stranger Things Cast Members Hope For More Deaths In Season 5
Despite Stranger Things' high death toll, Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp advocate for a grim season 5, wishing for the deaths of key characters

Stranger Things has taken a heavy toll on its characters over the course of its current three-season run, with individuals being slain by horrible creatures and those who defend the Upside Down. Each season, more characters are added to the list for viewers to mourn, such as Benny (Chris Sullivan) and Barb (Shannon Purser) from season one, and Bob Newby from season two (Sean Astin). Stranger Things season 3's death toll was exceptionally high, with notable additions including Dr. Alexei (Alec Utgoff) and Billy (Dacre Montgomery), who was possessed by the Mind Flayer and subsequently sacrificed himself to protect his sister and her friends.
But these killings aren't enough for the Stranger Things actors, who demand for something more savage in an interview with The Wrap. The duo joke that they couldn't obtain a picture of the whole group together for the season 4 premiere owing to the vast number of members, and that the Duffer Brothers should murder off characters to make it simpler. Schnapp advises that in a "twist" finale, one of the key characters be killed off, with Brown volunteering Eleven as a sacrifice. Read the entire quote below:
Brown: [the Duffer Brothers] need to start killing people off.
Schnapp: They just need to have one massacre scene, kill half the cast off.
B: One huge massacre scene. … The Duffer Brothers are two sensitive sallies that don’t want to kill anybody off. We need to be Game of Thrones; we need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones.
S: And just kill like a main-main character.
B: I know! Kill me off!
S: Twist the whole thing.
B: They tried killing David off and they brought him back!

Hopper (David Harbour), like Billy, sacrificed himself for the greater good, but it appears that both characters will return in Stranger Things season 4. Max flies above Billy's grave when visiting him, and many believe he is possessing his sister due to his link to the Mind Flayer. Stranger Things gave indications that Hopper may, despite all chances, still be alive, so Harbour's return is much more solid. Later, as Brown claimed, the Duffer Brothers verified that Hopper is still alive, but not doing well in a frigid Russian jail.
Given how hazardous Hawkins has grown over the years, it's astonishing that none of the children have been seriously harmed. Stranger Things' inspirations have never shied away from murdering off characters. While Stranger Things certainly reflect their ruthless approach to death, the majority of the core characters has escaped uninjured. However, with the impending last two seasons, this might change. Eleven has utilized her magical skills to defend her pals throughout the series, but after losing them at the conclusion of Stranger Things season 3, the stakes are much greater for the next few episodes.
