Sun Glare Issues In Overwatch 2 Have Been Bothering Players

Overwatch 2 users are complaining about the sequel's inclusion of sun glare, calling it irritating and detracting from the game's realism.

The aesthetics of Blizzard's renowned online multiplayer shooter have been updated, updating it for newer platforms while also making it more scalable for the Nintendo Switch. Some of the new technology added by Blizzard, and how it was deployed, hasn't necessarily made Overwatch 2 better. Lighting is one of the most important features to be improved in Overwatch 2.

Because the game now includes a new weather system, certain maps are now set during the day and some during the night. However, Blizzard has also worked hard to improve the lighting on these maps. There is more dynamic lighting now, which adds brightness, warmth, and coloration to the illumination as well as additional ambient occlusion when the weather permits.

However, some of Blizzard's lighting effects may have gone too far. Overwatch 2 users on Reddit demonstrated how staring in the direction of the Sun may obliterate a large chunk of the screen. Looking around the sun, on the other hand, can generate a lens flare effect or texture that is quite distracting and can take gamers out of the experience.

It's unclear whether the lighting in Overwatch 2 has been tweaked or whether the problem is due to a glitch. Overwatch 2's lighting difficulties wouldn't be a concern if it was only an aesthetic decision that didn't affect gameplay. In Overwatch 2, however, there are heroes that can fly or exploit verticality to their advantage.
