According to Sensor Tower, Genshin Impact has generated around $3.7 billion since its inception in September 2020.

Scar From The Lion King Will Be Added To The Disney Dreamlight Valley Update

Genshin Impact's tremendous sales performance positions the RPG as the third-highest earning mobile game globally over the last two years, after only China-exclusive mobile game Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile. Only Roblox managed to outperform HoYoVerse's enormously popular RPG in terms of earnings for mobile games outside of China, according to reports.

According to Sensor Tower's study, the top-grossing areas for Genshin Impact are China and India, with China edging out other equally significant markets. China has been Genshin Impact's main market throughout its existence, accounting for $1.2 billion on iOS alone, or around 33% of Genshin's sales.

Japan was the second-largest market for Genshin Impact, accounting for 24% of total sales, with the United States coming in third at 17%. The data also discloses the breakdown of spending by platform, with iOS being the most popular platform for the game globally. The massive sales figures in China have been made clear by constantly updated charts displaying income from Genshin Impact's character banners. Venti has long been one of Genshin's most popular characters in terms of player expenditure, with his two replays grossing approximately $10 million USD on the first day in China. According to Genshin Impact statistics from China, the game has already had at least five gacha banners make more than $4 million on Day 1 in the Chinese market. The bulk of Genshin Impact's banners has had comparable Day 1 success, with the majority exceeding $1 million. The new research demonstrating Genshin Impact's huge success comes as HoYoVerse celebrates the game's second anniversary. HoYoVerse revealed a long-term anime project for Genshin Impact with popular Japanese studio Ufotable during the Version 3.1 Special Program webcast. On October 2, Genshin Impact will also perform its second annual concert incorporating songs from the game. With important announcements and in-game incentives starting off the festivities, Genshin Impact will attempt to build on its success in the next year.
