The Second Map Leak For Warzone 2 Indicates That It Will Avoid The Classic CoD Mistake

According to leaked information on a second #CallofDuty: Warzone 2 multiplayer map, the sequel will not repeat the mistakes of its predecessors

The sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone has yet to get a formal announcement, while developer Infinity Ward confirmed the game's existence during a press event in February of this year. The sequel was also highlighted in an April earnings report by publisher Activision Blizzard, who said the experience will include a number of "groundbreaking advances." While Infinity Ward is working on Warzone 2 alongside MW2, according to Activision's quarterly report, the full unveiling for the new free-to-play adventure won't be ready until later in 2022.

Industry insider Tom Henderson said in a post for eXputer that a second map for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has already begun creation. This suggests that the often long time between new maps will not be an issue for COD's upcoming battle royale experience. Henderson, on the other hand, stated that his sources had no idea when Infinity Ward plans to release the second area in its post-launch timeline. The map appeared in the game menu, according to one person who participated in a recent playtest. Though the map is still unplayable, some in the know believe it will be similar in size to the original Warzone's Rebirth Island. People familiar with the project also informed Henderson that a recent company-wide meeting set a release date for Warzone 2 "a couple of months after MW2." If this turns out to be correct, the next Warzone might arrive between December 2022 and January 2023.

Another rumor from Tom Henderson earlier this year said that Warzone 2 will "coming alongside Modern Warfare 2." It was unclear at the time if this meant the two shooters would be released on the same day, according to the leaker. According to Henderson's most recent report on the subject, this will not be the case. But, as always, Warzone fans should take everything above with a grain of salt for the time being.

Activision Blizzard revealed a teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 barely a week ago, thus this new Warzone 2 leak comes as no surprise. The teaser didn't provide any gameplay or other content details, but it did confirm the sequel's release date of October 28. Now, Call of Duty fans are waiting for the big revelation, which might happen in June.
